The Moon Shells draw from the traditional music of Appalachia, Louisiana, West Africa and elsewhere to try to make something new. They've been gigging all over New England and just a little bit beyond. They've been written up a couple times in the Hartford Courant's end-of-year roundups for best regional albums, and were nominated last year for Americana Band of the Year for the New England Music Awards. Most of all, though, they're driven by the fact that they love making music together, and making people feel just a little better than they did before they heard them.
