Nick Depuy & The Big Fly

Folk-Soul

The music starts with leader and singer-songwriter Nick Depuy, who's grooving and dextrous acoustic guitar passages paired with his smooth and expressive baritone singing voice cut a striking outline for the listener to grab hold. Then The Big Fly comprised of the highly talented and skilled musician friends supporting him respond in kind and lift Nick's performance to exciting heights.

Nick Depuy & The Big Fly is a rising folk-soul band with strong roots in the Connecticut folk and music scene. It's original members first came together in 2017 to work on and record CT based singer-songwriter Nick Depuy's debut album, "Don't Be Sorry" in West Haven. Nick & The Big Fly have since been transforming Nick's thoughtful folk and blues inspired songwriting in excitingly soulful ways on stage and in the studio.

With new song recordings currently in the works, they've already released two acclaimed singles, the Country Blues credo "You Never Know" and the Alt-Folk anthem "So We Love" that have earned a finalist selection in the 2020 Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition. Now with a string of notable performances under their belt at 2022 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in the Emerging Artist Showcase, at FTC Fairfield Stage One, and the Connecticut Special Olympic's Victory Dance at Fairfield University, Nick Depuy & The Big Fly are excited to bring their celebratory show of original songs to this year's Black Bear Music Festival!
